I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Anthropology at George Washington who will defend my dissertation November 30, 2026.

My dissertation project explores what the development of ethical practices in psychedelic gray and black markets in the United States can teach us about how to end the War on Drugs. I write about the relationships between affect, ethics, politics, aesthetics, language, and the body. My work is interdisciplinary, and I draw heavily on political theory, critical phenomenology, and linguistic anthropology. You can learn more about my work by checking out my publications page.

I am also an independent filmmaker. I love the collaborative nature of filmmaking, and I got my start volunteering to do anything that was needed on independent film sets. My first film, GUESS WHERE YOU’RE GOING, is a short documentary that I produced and co-wrote with my friend and collaborator Hamzah Saif.
